RIO GRANDE – Middle Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash July 5 at approximately 5:09 a.m. on Route 47 in Rio Grande.
The investigation revealed Sadie Faulkner, 17, of Rio Grande, was driving a 2000 Plymouth Neon westbound in the area of milepost 2.1. Faulkner lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole, as well as two trees before coming to a rest.
Faulkner died as a result of the crash.
Middle Township Police Fatal Crash Team and Major Crimes Unit is handling the investigation, which is ongoing.
Also assisting on scene were the Rio Grande Fire Department, Middle Township EMS and state Department of Transportation.
