Cops: DUI Man Slams Car into Bar

NORTH CAPE MAY – A man was arrested after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a local watering hole, stated Lower Township police.
Police were called to CJ’s American Bar & Grill, 3929 Bayshore Rd. Dec. 8 at 11:20 a.m. for a report of a subject slamming his car into the bar several times.
Upon their arrival the suspect, identified as Kyle W. Komar, 18, of the 600 block of Fire Lane, attempted to leave the area. Police apprehended Komar who was subsequently charged with DWI as well as additional traffic violations.
Police stated during the arrest, Komar allegedly spit blood on one officer and head butted another.
As a result of their investigation, police charged the suspect with several criminal charges including two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer; one count of criminal mischief; one count of risking widespread damage or injury; and numerous drug charges.
Bail was set for Komar at $20,000.
Township construction official Gary Playford was summoned to the scene to evaluate the structural integrity of the building. Township officials deemed the building to be safe.
