Collision Traps One

VILLAS – Lower Township Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries in the vicinity of Bayshore Road and Shawmont Avenue March 9 at 8:07 p.m. 
During the investigation, Patrolman Kevin Boyle spoke with a witness to the incident as well as the driver of one of the vehicles involved. It was reported to Patrolman Boyle that a vehicle, operated by an undisclosed driver, had made a right turn from Shawmont Avenue into the intersection with Bayshore Road, directly in the path of the second vehicle who was traveling south on Bayshore Road. 
An occupant from within the first vehicle was trapped and had to be extracted by the “jaws of life” which was utilized by Villas Volunteer Fire Department.
As a result of the collision, two unnamed occupants were treated for their injuries and transported to Cape Regional Medical Center and are in stable condition. 
This incident is currently under investigation.
