Collision Results in DWI Arrest

By Press Release

VILLAS – Lower Township Police Department was dispatched to Maple Avenue March 10 at approximately 11:40 p.m. to investigate the report of a motor vehicle collision involving an overturned vehicle with driver entrapment.
Patrolman Jason Felsing and Patrol Officer Jennifer Anzelone arrived on scene to find Megan M. Carbone, 21, of Villas, sitting outside of her vehicle off the road, uninjured.
Police investigation revealed that Carbone, while traveling East on Maple Avenue, drifted to the shoulder of the road and struck a parked vehicle which caused her sport utility vehicle to overturn.
During the investigation, Carbone was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated by Patrol Officer Anzelone and transported from the scene.
Carbone was processed and issued several motor vehicle summonses including driving while intoxicated.
Carbone was found to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .16 percent, twice the legal limit in New Jersey.
Villas Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash site to ensure the area was safe due to the leaking of fluids from the overturned sport utility vehicle.
This investigation was completed by Patrolman Felsing along with Patrol Officer Anzelone of the Lower Township Police Department.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
