BURLEIGH — Well over 100 classmates, family and friends gathered at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30 on Shunpike Road near Oyster Road for a candlelight vigil in honor of Kevin Lamb, a 17-year-old who lost his life in a fatal car accident there two days earlier.
As the sun set, Lamb’s mother Caryn Rixey spoke to those who attended, telling stories about her son, who she loved very much. The Cape May County Technical High School senior was remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart and love of rap music.
When Rixey finished speaking, the group paused for a moment of silence.
A service for Lamb will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at 10:30 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may visit 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Cape May County Technical School Educational Fund, 188 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
