ATLANTIC CITY — The Coast Guard rescued four people Sept. 18 who were disabled and adrift aboard a boat three miles south of Absecon Inlet.
The Coast Guard received a call at 2:30 p.m. from a crewmember aboard a boat reporting they were taking on water.
Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City launched a helicopter crew and Coast Guard Station Atlantic City launched a boat crew to search the area.
While responding to the report, the Coast Guard boat crew received a second report stating the boat had sunk and the two people aboard were rescued by a Good Samaritan; however, the Good Samaritan’s boat became disabled in the process.
The Coast Guard boat crew located all four survivors and took the disabled boat in tow.
The survivors and their boat were transported to the Tennessee Avenue boat ramp in Ocean City.
