CG Finds Overdue Angler

CAPE MAY — The Coast Guard located a missing 52-year-old man June 3 in Cape May Canal.
Rescued was Gregory Cooper of Cape May.
The Coast Guard received a call at about 3 a.m. from Cooper’s wife requesting Coast Guard assistance.
Cooper reportedly left for a fishing trip about 8 p.m. June 2. Cooper’s wife reported him overdue when he did not return home at midnight.
A Coast Guard rescue boat crew from Station Cape May located Cooper in Cape May Canal.
Cooper reported to the rescue crew that he was having engine trouble.
The rescue crew escorted Cooper aboard his boat to a nearby boat ramp.
