Car Hits Tree in Green Creek Two Airlifted

GREEN CREEK– Two people were injured on Tue. Jan., 25 at 1:17 a.m., when the vehicle they were traveling in left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree in the area of Jerry’s Excavating on Indian Trail Road.
Green Creek firefighters were called to the scene to extricate the driver and passenger who were entrapped in the vehicle.
Police said Upon arrival Officers found a 1994 Mercury Tracer, sedan,green in color, had crashed head on into a tree. The driver, Charles J. Caruso Jr, 38, of Cape May Court House was unconscious and suffered head trauma and multiple contusions. The passenger, Lauren A. Kirk, 20, of Erma was entrapped in the vehicle and also suffered head trauma as well as a severe leg fracture.
Middle Township Ambulance Corps. and Rio Grande Rescue provided care on scene with AtlantiCare paramedics before the driver and passenger were airlifted to the trauma unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City by Atlantic Air Two and MedEvac 5.
Charges are pending. This crash is still under investigation by Ptl. Steve Novsak.
