Bicyclists Injured by Auto in Crest

WILDWOOD CREST — On Aug. 4, at 11:42 a.m. Wildwood Crest Police Officers were called to the area of Hollywood and Pacific avenues on a reported motor vehicle accident involving a car and two bicyclists.
Upon arriving Sgt. Joseph McGrath and P/O Christopher Webb found Valdimir Zentinov and his friend Veronika Ihoshava injured and on the ground. Further investigation found that both subjects were riding their bicycles north on Pacific Avenue.
As the two approached the intersection at Hollywood Avenue, they were both struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was traveling west in the 200 block of Hollywood Avenue and failed to yield to the bicyclist.
Zentinov was flown by South Star MedEvac helicopter to Atlantic City Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
Ihoshava was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center by the Wildwood Crest Rescue Squad with non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle was operated by Lorraine Wheaton of North Wildwood. She was issued a summons for failing to yield to traffic.
