SOUTH DENNIS — State police report that a bicyclist received serious injuries when struck by an SUV in the northbound lanes of Route 47 at 3:34 p.m. Sun., May 27.
It was discovered that a white in color SUV with unknown occupants struck the bicyclist. According to police, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident without stopping. A search for the vehicle was met with negative results.
The victim was airlifted to Atlantic City Medical Center for the injuries sustained from the accident. The victim’s injuries were later reported to be non¬life-threatening.
Traffic was temporarily diverted to an alternate route for approximately two hours.
This case is pending further investigation.
