Avalon Police Investigate Hit-and-Run Crash; Two Injured

AVALON — Borough police are investigating a possible hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that involved a minivan and a tricycle that took place shortly before 1 a.m. here June 19 on 21st street and Ocean Drive.
The van, driven by Stephen G. Ruckno, of Warrington, Pa., allegedly struck the rear of a “Roadshow-Type” pedicycle with two passengers, who were thrown into the street by the impact. They were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
According to police, the van continued west on 21st Street after the accident and was subsequently stopped by Sgt. Alan Gomban.
Ruckno, 28, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
