April Crashes Claim 2 Lives; 5 Died on Cape Roads in ’18

COURT HOUSE – There were two traffic fatalities in separate crashes in Cape May County during April. They raise the year’s total fatalities to five, according to New Jersey State Police data. 
The most recent, April 22, occurred on Garden State Parkway at milepost 5.6 southbound in Middle Township at 5:49 a.m.
The month’s earlier fatality took place April 16 at 8:19 a.m. in Upper Township on Route 9 northbound at milepost 22.3.
The year’s first traffic fatality was recorded in Dennis Township Jan. 10 at 5:51 p.m. at the intersection of Route 9 and Woodbine-Ocean View Road (CR 550).
Then, in Upper Township March 18 at 5:36 p.m. the second fatality took place on Stagecoach and Church roads.
March 30 at 3:39 p.m., in Lower Township the third fatality was recorded after a car crashed into a house at the intersection of Breakwater and Seashore roads.
As of May 1, statewide there were 163 fatalities in 151 crashes since Jan. 1, 2018.
