SEAVILLE — Joshua Fox, a 19-year-old resident of Upper Township, was killed Wed., June 15 in an accident on Route 50 at 1:25 a.m.
According to reports from the New Jersey State Police, the accident took place at mile marker 2.1 on Route 50. When police arrived, the Upper Township Rescue Squad and Seaville Volunteer Fire Department were already on scene providing medical care to Fox.
The investigation revealed that Fox was driving his motorcycle in the southbound lane of the highway. In front of him was a Jeep Cherokee driven by John Richards, 52, of Frankford, Del.
The report stated that due to unsafe speed, Fox rear-ended Richard’s vehicle, causing the crash. The impact of from the crash caused Fox to eject from his motorcycle and enter through the rear of the Jeep, landing in the front passenger seat.
Fox, who was critical condition at the scene of the accident with a head injury, was taken by helicopter to the trauma center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division. Fox was pronounced dead from his injuries at 9:30 a.m.
Richards refused medical treatment at the scene.
