DENNISVILLE—A five vehicle crash caused heavy delays here on Route 47 at milepost 19.5 on Monday, April 13 around 5:30 a.m.
The crash involved a tractor trailer that was traveling southbound and crossed into the northbound lane for an unknown reason.
A second tractor traveling northbound that was not towing a trailer left the roadway crashing through a fence narrowly missing several trees before coming to rest a few feet from a home here on Route 47.
Two pick-up trucks and a sport-utility vehicle were also involved in the crash one truck was forced into the woods, the second pick-up truck also left the roadway and sideswiped several trees.
Belleplain Emergency Corps and Atlanticare Paramedics were initially dispatched to the scene then recalled when no injuries were reported.
Station 18 was also dispatched to the scene.
As of 6:35 a.m. crews were still working to clear the wreckage from the scene. Traffic is reduced to one lane of travel.
The accident is under investigation by Troopers at the Woodbine station.
