26-Year-old Motorcyclist Dies in Tuckahoe Crash

By Harry B. Scheeler Jr.

TUCKAHOE — State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that involved three motorcycles that took place shortly after midnight on Weatherby Road on July 13.
According to a driver of one of the motorcycles involved that did not want to be identified, the three had just left Wawa and were traveling on Weatherby Road (C.R. 548) when two of the motorcycles accelerated down the road at a high rate of speed leaving the third motorcycle behind.
At some point, the two other motorcycles reportedly turned around and came at the third motorcycle head-on at a high rate of speed. One of the two motorcycles side swiped the third motorcycle ejecting the driver.
That driver was identified as Joseph Rosado, 26, of Millville, and was pronounced dead on arrival by Medic 8.
According to State Police, Rosado was riding in the westbound shoulder of the road near milepost 6.3.
At that time, Matthew R. Pfaff, 30, of Millville went over the westbound lane to avoid an oncoming cycle in his lane, and attempted to stop.
Pfaff reportedly jumped from his cycle just prior to impact, and received superficial injuries. Rosado was ejected from his cycle.
A third cyclist, Jason Dambrosio, 31, also of Millville, was riding behind Rosado. When he attempted to avoid the crash scene, he lost control of his vehicle. He sustained minor injuries and was treated at Shore Memorial Hospital.
Upper Township Rescue Squad responded to the scene with Tuckahoe Fire Department.
The accident is under investigation by the State Police Fatal Accident Investigation team and troopers from the Woodbine Station.
