2 Face Drug Charges After Crash

This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
VILLAS – Lower Township Police Department received a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident in the area of Bayshore Road and Wildwood Avenue during the early evening hours of July 21. 
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a vehicle, operated by Brian W. Sessa, 49, of Villas, had struck another vehicle while attempting to make a right turn from Wildwood Avenue onto Bayshore Road.
Sessa was interviewed by police on scene, however, further investigation revealed that he had parked his vehicle behind the Lower Township Municipal Building. Officers located the vehicle there, which was occupied by Meghan L. Valeri, 27, of North Cape May. Valeri was found seated in the passenger seat in possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substance), heroin.  
The operator of the second vehicle involved in the crash was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center by the Lower Township Rescue Squad, for the complaint of pain after the accident.  
Sessa was issued five motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, CDS in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failure to stop or yield and driving while suspended. Additionally, he was criminally charged with one count of being under the influence of CDS, a disorderly persons offense. He was issued the aforementioned criminal charges on a special complaint and was released on his own recognizance.  
Valeri was charged with one count of possession of CDS, third degree. She was issued a criminal complaint summons and released on her own recognizance. 
This incident was investigated by the Lower Township Police Department’s Patrol Division.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
