AVALON – The Avalon Police Department responded to a call of an accidental fall involving an 18-month-old child June 26 at 5:16 p.m.
The incident occurred at a home located in the 700 block of Sunrise Drive. The child was on a second-floor landing when he pushed on a screen that gave way. The child fell from the landing to a concrete surface on the first floor. The Cape May County Emergency Dispatch Center dispatched both Avalon Police and the Avalon Rescue Squad for immediate response. The child was conscious when he was medevaced to Cooper Hospital in Camden.
The victim is from Spring Lake, New Jersey and was with his family at the time of the accident.
