15 Rescued When Boat Runs Aground in North Wildwood

NORTH WILDWOOD– The Coast Guard was requested to assist with a non-emergency rescue effort when a boat ran aground on Champagne Island around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, according to Petty Officer Limberg.
Fifteen people were reported to have been stranded. No injuries were reported, however an ambulance responded on standby, Limberg said.
The North Wildwood and Wildwood Fire Departments, State Police and Sea Tow also responded, according to Limberg.
