11-Year-Old Injured by Falling Arcade Machine

WILDWOOD CREST – The City of Wildwood Fire Department responded for mutual aid at 10:36 p.m. August 7 to a hotel in the 500 block of East Stanton Avenue in Wildwood Crest for a pediatric injury due to an arcade machine falling on top of the child.
Engine 38 along with Ambulance 391 arrived and found the 11-year-old injured child lying on the floor surrounded by family members. It was reported that the arcade machine did in fact somehow fall on top of the child. Due to head injuries sustained during the incident medics and a medical helicopter were requested.
The patient was treated and transported to Crest Memorial School where the landing zone was established. Medivac 4 arrived and took over patient care. The patient was transported to DuPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE for further treatment.
Assisting on scene and at the landing zone were Wildwood Crest PD, Wildwood Crest Fire and Wildwood Crest EMS.
