NEWBOLD, ALICE BABBISH

NEWBOLD, ALICE BABBISH Alice Babbish Newbold, of Avalon, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with loving family on August 25, 2023. Alice was born in Woodbine, NJ to the late Frank and Mary Babbish. She lived in Cape May County all of her life and in Avalon since 1972. In her younger years, she worked for Bell Telephone in Wildwood, NJ. She was a resident of Avalon and a member of the St. Brendan the Navigator Parish for 51 years. Alice prayed every day and enjoyed watching daily mass on EWTN Network. She was a homemaker and was devoted to taking care of her family. Alice loved to cook, and her specialties were home-made pierogies and Golumpki (Golabki). She will be missed by many and will be in our hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dudley of 56 years; her sisters: Anna Goodwin, Sophia Jargowsky, and Kathryn (Katie) Beltz; brothers: John (Yosh), Joseph, Frank Stanley (Chennel), and Richard Babbish. Alice is survived by sons Douglas (Donna) of Avalon, Robert of Stone Harbor, John of Avalon, daughter Mary Newbold of Rockaway, NJ and four grandchildren Maegan (Matt), Melissa (Eric), Lauren, Caden, three great grandchildren: Theo, Ruby, and Jack Levi. She also is survived by beloved nieces and nephews, especially Susie Goodwin-Nelson. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Saint Brendan the Navigator Parish, 50th Street and Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ. A funeral mass will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alice's name may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Operation Smile 3641 Faculty Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23453.
