MURPHY, PATRICIA C. Patricia C. Murphy; Birth: 9-19-1934, Bergen County, New Jersey Deceased: 8-11-2023, Forsyth County, Georgia Patricia, born in Bergen County, New Jersey, to Joseph and Carol Duffy passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughters at her side on August 11, 2023. She was the oldest sister of four siblings and is survived by her sister, Kathy Frangos, of the Villages, Florida. She was married to Colonel John J. Murphy, Jr. (deceased 2012) and has four surviving children, John J. Murphy III (married to Clare Juechter) of Cape May New Jersey, Patricia Murphy-Fyfe (married to Georgie Fyfe grandchildren Troy and Zachary Fyfe) of Parsippany, New Jersey, Brian Murphy (married to Stacey Fox) of Alexandria, Virginia, and Eileen Murphy (married to Timothy Mitchell) of Cumming, Georgia. She will join her husband and her oldest daughter, Mary Ann (deceased 1958), when she is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Virgina. Patricia graduated from University of Massachusetts in 1956 and worked with United Airlines as a stewardess before marrying. She was mother to a military family, traveling the world over throughout Jack's 30-year Army career. She worked in numerous positions over her lifetime — as an elementary school teacher, furniture sales, security guard, and a civil servant (Defense Nuclear Agency, Deputy Chief Operations Projects, Picatinny Arsenal), and later enjoyed returning to teaching English as a Second Language in Virginia and New Mexico, assisting with English and coaching to help pass citizenship exams. As a devout Roman Catholic, she volunteered as a eucharistic minister for 20 years in the USA and overseas and became a Third Order Carmelite and assisted the cloistered Poor Clare Colettine Nuns. Hobbies included singing,painting, stained glass, acting in musical theater and gardening. She played golf with Jack frequently in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and always enjoyed a good game of bocce ball with her neighbors at the Legacy in Rio Grande, New Jersey. Donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Christ Child Society.
