Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Drug, Child Endangerment Charges

WILDWOOD CREST – A local couple have been charged with narcotics violations and other offenses after police made a motor vehicle stop, Aug. 30.

Wildwood Crest Police Officer Michael McInerney conducted a motor vehicle stop for a moving violation at Denver Road and New Jersey Avenue at around 2:36 p.m. McInerney observed the passenger, Meghan Gleba, 34, of Wildwood Crest, allegedly removing something from her purse and stuffing it into her bra. She was placed under arrest and a search was conducted of the vehicle, where police located suspected heroin and cocaine. There was also a 4-year-old child in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

Michael Gleba, 37, the driver, also of Wildwood Crest, was suspected to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of narcotics and was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and driving while intoxicated. Gleba was also charged with several motor vehicle infractions.

Both Michael and Meghan Gleba were charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Michael Gleba was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility. Meghan Gleba was released on a summons.
