MIRSKY, MARIA TAITO
Maria Taito Mirsky, 71, of Avalon, NJ, formerly of Yardley, PA and Newtown, PA, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, after a long journey with dementia.
Born in Philadelphia on December 10, 1953, to Jean and Liberantonio Taito, Maria grew up in Rosemont, PA. She attended Archbishop Carroll High School and graduated from Marywood University with a degree in English Literature.
She began her career as a secretary in the marketing department of FMC Corporation in Philadelphia, PA. She rose through the ranks of corporate marketing and advertising with American Cyanamid in Wayne, NJ, and Dancer Fitzgerald Sample and Muller Jordan Weiss in New York, NY.
In 1986, Maria founded her own agency in Yardley, PA. For over three decades, she built a thriving business serving national and international agricultural clients; bringing creativity, integrity, and warmth to every relationship.
Maria was a curious traveler, avid reader, eloquent writer, and a woman ahead of her time. She traveled Europe in her twenties, raised a family while running her business, and loved spending summers with her family at the beach.
Maria is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Jay; children David (Hadley) and Steph (Lee); grandchildren Riley, Codie, and Brodie; her sisters Juliet and Camille; brother Dr. Lee Taito; and many extended family members in Italy.
The Mirsky family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who treated Maria with kindness and respect.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 12:00pm at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until the time of service.
Donations in her memory can be made to the University of Pennsylvania Frontotemporal Degeneration Center or Mercer Street Friends Food Cooperative.
