Dr. David Visco believes in treating his patients as if they were his mother, and with decades of experience in pulmonary, sleep and critical care medicine, his commitment to providing compassionate, patient-focused care comes through as he talks about his new practice in Cape May Court House and patients, who often drive an hour or more for their care.
DPV Consultants P.A., sleep, lung and asthma specialist, opened about three months ago at 8 Village Drive, and so far, Dr. Visco likes to describe his services as “boutique,” as he treats adults 18 years of age and older.

“I’ve been blessed with loyal patients who have stuck with me over the years,” he said, “and I am often humbled by how far some will travel to see me when there are so many other options.”
Visco is not new to the area, serving the South Jersey community since 2021. He and his wife have three children, and have owned a home in Wildwood since 2005. One can often see the doctor and his family boating or fishing in the area or supporting their church and community during their downtime. They now live in Court House.
A Philadelphia-trained physician, he completed his residency and fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania – Hahnemann University, Drexel University College of Medicine. Throughout his career, Visco has gained extensive expertise, including his tenure at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia, where he honed his skills in managing cancer-related pulmonary, sleep and critical care conditions, as well as physician leadership and advanced training. It was there he honed his skills so he could provide “care as if every patient was his mother.”

Accepting new patients now, he has a large following of “loyal” patients and a “strong
referral base” from other doctors. Because he is an independent doctor with only the one location, he will work with any area medical system.
“My goal is to keep a patient out of the hospital,” he said, describing his approach, “because that is so stressful on so many levels. Before I see a patient, I am reading their charts and other records so I don’t enter the room cold. I know why some one is here, and what tests have already been done.”
Visco’s approach can be described as holistic, as he considers all options and all forms of treatment. “I don’t discount any form of treatment,” he stressed. “I will look at what’s already been done, and then determine what hasn’t been done that we should look at. I don’t discount any form of treatment, whether it’s nutrition, physical therapy conditioning or other alternatives.”

Because he is multi-specialty board-certified, in pulmonary, sleep medicine, critical care and internal medicine – meaning he undergoes a constant stream of intensive continuing education to maintain his skills and learn about new techniques and options – he is able to bring his wealth of knowledge, board certifications and unwavering dedication to his practice to be a Top Tier physician and healer. He leverages technology to stay on top of office efficiencies, and offers telehealth services to established patients whenever appropriate.
Already he is looking to expand his business so his patients can receive one-stop shopping with lab services, additional staffing, and expertise in nutrition and obesity management. He also provides at-home sleep studies for those not wanting and physically unable to spend a night away from home.

His exceptional care and expertise have earned him numerous accolades throughout his care: 2023 Castle Connology Top Doctor award, SJ Magazine’s 2022 Sleep Medicine Top Doctor recognition, the July 2020 Find a Top Doc award in pulmonary and critical care, and Philadelphia Magazine’s April 2009 Rising Star Top Doctor acknowledgement.
