MCKAIG, AMANDA B.
Amanda B. McKaig, 97, of South Dennis, N.J., died Oct. 1, 2025 after a long and active life.
Born in Linwood, N.J., in 1928, she was the daughter of John and Amanda (Billings) Bell, She was a graduate of Pleasantville High School. She was employed by Chelsea Title Company for many years and there met her first husband, William B. Watson, and moved to South Dennis, where she lived from 1952 until her death.
Amanda was active in church and charity, including Calvary Baptist Church in Ocean View, First United Methodist Church of Cape May Court House and Wesley United Methodist Church in Petersburg. With her second husband, Otis McKaig, she traveled around the country as a volunteer for Nomads On a Mission Active in Divine Service and Habitat for Humanity. She enjoyed her family, to whom she was always “Sis”, and travel, which took her to the Holy Land and many other destinations after her retirement. She enjoyed square dancing as a member of the Rainbow Squares. And she loved cake!
Amanda is predeceased by: her parents; her first husband, William B. Watson; her second husband, Otis McKaig; grandsons Forest Watson and Jonathan Shanz; her brothers James, John, Irven and Frances; and her sisters Karen and Anna. She is survived by: her sons, William J. Watson (Sheree) and David S. Watson (Robin); stepdaughters Susan Shanz and Kathleen Bell; stepson Steve McKaig (Lucy); her grandchildren, Joshua Watson (Donna), Caleb Watson (Marie) and Lucas Watson (Carrie Anne), Justin Phillips (Jo), Grace Phillips and Paige (Andrew) Phillips, Rich Hoover, Ben Hoover, Megan Shanz, Carl McKaig, Holly McKaig, Laura McKaig, Greg Linares, and Kara Linares; and 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Wayne Bell (Nancy) and her sister, Kay Seelig (Bell).
Services will be Monday, Oct. 13, at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and services led by Pastor Robert E. Costello of Wesley United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in South Dennis.
