McCONNELL JR., JAMES HENRY James Henry McConnell Jr., 80, of Wildwood NJ, passed away on August 2, 2023, in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Philadelphia PA, Jim lived most of his life in Wildwood, NJ then retired to Jacksonville FL. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years Maryanne McConnell, (nee Lane) and his parents James & Marjory McConnell. Jim is survived by his sister Pat Stefanowicz and Brother-inlaw Elmer Stefanowicz and his children Maryann D'Ambrosio, Jim McConnell III, Krista Fitzsimons (Matthew), and Meggan Bissey (Greg). Jim also left behind his loving grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer), Danny, Katelin, Liam, Burke, Grace, Maggie, Lily, Alayna, and great grandchildren Kendyl, Kason, and Grayson. Jim was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather. Jim exemplified unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic. He took tremendous pride in providing for his family's needs. For 25 years, he loved working at the CMC Park & Zoo, with genuine passion and enthusiasm. He would often come home with interesting Zoo animal stories. Jim enjoyed boating and fishing, especially with his grandchildren whom he cherished dearly. Jim was fun loving and kind and will be profoundly missed. A memorial service to honor Jim's life will be held at St. Ann's Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ on Saturday September 9, 2023 with visitation at 10:00am and mass at 11:00am. A burial service will be held at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services, 1500 Main Street, Atlantic Beach, Florida 32233 on September 23, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jim's name to the Cape May County Park & Zoo at 707 North Route 9, CMCH, NJ 08210, or made online at capemaycountynj.gov. or to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
