Man’s Body Found on Cove Beach; Death Called Not Suspicious

CAPE MAY – Law enforcement personnel found the body of a man, about 50 years old, on Cove Beach on Monday, Aug. 26, and called it a nonsuspicious death.

In a press release, authorities said only that the body of the man was found on Cove Beach near the end of Beach Drive, that the death was nonsuspicious, that no foul play was involved, and that there is no threat to the public.

No other details were available.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Cape May Police Chief Dekon Fashaw said an investigation is underway.

The Cape May Police Department had issued a tip at 7:24 a.m. Aug. 26 saying the beach from the Cove in Cape May to Cape May May Point was closed for a police investigation.
