NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood police arrested Michael Brisby, 36, from Missouri, on Jan. 10 after he told officers that he was hearing “voices in his head” that told him to head to an FBI building in Langley, Virginia.

The vehicle Brisby was operating had been reported stolen in Pennsylvania; he had requested help with the vehicle, and during his interaction with North Wildwood police, explained that he had past experience making explosives. Police said in a release that Brisby made other “concerning statements” to officers.

Brisby had a Glock 43x in his vehicle, which was searched after a warrant was obtained through a joint effort by the North Wildwood Detective Bureau, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the county sheriff’s K-9 unit. No explosives were found in the vehicle.

He was charged with being a fugitive from justice, certain persons not to possess weapons, unlawful possession of weapons, receiving a stolen motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, and was being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
