CREST HAVEN – Students from Lower Township took the first- through fourth-place awards in the annual Cape May County Earth Day Celebration Logo Contest and were honored on Friday, April 12, in the county commissioners meeting room.
The county encouraged all children in the county to create an image with the annual theme for Earth Day and received close to 300 entries. This year’s theme was “Planet vs. Plastic.” The contest’s aim is to inspire students to think about the world around them and instill environmentally safe choices in their future.
The winning logo was designed by Olivia Suit of the Sandman Consolidated School. Second place went to Bentley Gray, and third to Payton Douglass, both from the Maud Abrams School. Fourth place went to Rian Rivers of Teitelman Middle School. All of the award winners received certificates and gift cards for Morey’s Piers & Waterpark.
