Lower Police Warn of an ‘Unsanctioned Vehicle Event’ Later Today

By Herald Staff

VILLAS – The Lower Township Police Department issued the following around 1 p.m. Jan. 15:

“The Lower Township Police has learned of an unsanctioned event involving off-road vehicles on public roads scheduled to take place later today. In recent years organized events such as Wildwood’s H20i and other “ride outs” involving all types of motorized vehicles have caused senseless injuries and deaths. It is inherently dangerous and illegal to operate unauthorized vehicles on public roads, especially in a reckless manner in populated areas.

“Anyone thinking of engaging in or organizing any type of similar event is forewarned that there will be a swift and appropriate law enforcement and legal response.”

This is a developing story.
