LONG, DOROTHY M. Dorothy M. Long, 89, passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 at her home in Wildwood Crest. She was born Sept. 22, 1934, at Hattie Long Maternity Home in Wildwood, the daughter of the late Torvaldt and Marie (Mattson) Feldt. She married her High School sweetheart Donald W. Long Sr., on Aug. 23, 1953, and celebrated 61 years of marriage until his death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her sister Vivian Kloo. Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Wildwood High School where she served as class secretary. After graduation she worked as a secretary for Byrne Insurance Agency when it was located on Pacific Ave. She and her husband founded and operated Duffer's Restaurant since 1974. Dorothy is also survived by her three sons and their wives – Donald W. Long Jr. and Donna, David B. Long and Diane, Douglas T. Long and Regina. She had 8 grandchildren – Christopher Long and wife Jamie, Timothy Long and wife Jenna, Matthew Long and wife Jackie, Nicholas Long and wife Malissa, Donald Long III and wife Nicole, Jenna (Long) Geraghty and husband Patrick, Andrew Long, William Long, and four great grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church Anglesea and loved the Lord. Dorothy was a loving mom and sweet gentle soul who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10am, Friday, Jan. 5, at Ingersoll Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Ave., N. Wildwood, where the funeral will be held at 11am with Robert Rogish, pastor officiating. Burial will follow at the Cold Springs Cemetery, 780 Seashore Rd., Cape May In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Samaritan's Purse International Relief.
