LINK, MARIA A. Maria A. Link nee Keppler – March 31, 1952-February 6, 2024- passed away in Pinellas County Florida on February 6, 2024 just short of her 72nd birthday. Maria is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Marie Keppler brother Robert and is survived by a brother and sisters. Maria was raised in the City of Philadelphia and attended St. Bonifice and Cardinal Dougherty High School. Maria started her career with Bell of Pa at the age of 18 and advanced in many departments in Bell of Pa, NJ Bell, Bell Atlantic and retired from Verizon Communications in 2001 after 31 yrs. Maria loved the carefree life of the Jersey Shore. She loved the water , sand, and sun for 43yrs, and after many years as a "snow bird" in Florida it was time to make the Sunshine State her home. Maria loved to bike on her yellow cruiser where it wasn't how fast but how far to her destinations with the stops at many area yard sales. Maria loved people and always faced life with a smile and humor. She belonged to many civic organizations over the years and especially loved the Garden Club. She always laughed about being a city girl who never had a green thumb. Her baking skills began and ended at the local super market. Maria was highly appreciated in coordinating many kayak events and with the Annual Coombs Douglass Run with her husband. Maria tells the story of biking on the Pinellas Trail in Florida after a Phillies spring training game with Toronto in Dunedin. Everyone would say "come on Maria keep up with us". Maria rode on a flat tire never complaing about her plight. She just got the job done! Maria was an avid reader, loved doing puzzles, shopping for a bargain, and enjoyed travel. Maria was simply the person she was, a good person with a big heart. She lived life simply. It was the little things that made her happy. Maria will be missed by those she touched.
