LINDHOLM, RAYMOND C. Raymond Charles Lindholm passed away on November 29, 2023 at age 87 in Cape May Court House, NJ. Raymond Charles Lindholm was born at Margaret Mace Hospital, North Wildwood, NJ on October 7, 1936 to Finnish immigrants, Arthur and Elsa (Bradenberg) Lindholm of Bromarf, Finland. Ray was the eleventh of twelve children and grew up in Rio Grande, NJ on the family homestead. Here Ray enjoyed fishing, trapping and farming with his family and friends. Ray attended Middle Township schools before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1954 and serving until 1967. While in the Navy, Ray learned the trade of welding which served him well as a Seabee during tours of duty in Bermuda, North Africa, French Morocco, Vietnam and Alaska. In 1978, Ray had a memorable experience as the ship's welder on the Bering Sea for fourteen months keeping the Sea Hawk's equipment in good repair while fishing for Alaskan King Crab. Upon Ray's return to Cape May County, he established "Ray's Welding and Fabrication" and fomented a reliable reputation as a meticulous and skilled welder for many Cape May, Atlantic and Cumberland County fishing boats and processing facilities, as well as on Cape Cod, MA and Long Island, NY. Ray was a dedicated high school sports enthusiast regularly cheering on his children and step-children. He loved his Phillies and Eagles and was thrilled to see each win a World Series and the Super Bowl respectively. Mr. Lindholm is survived by his wife of 41 years Dorothy Bannon-Lindholm and his children Raymond, Dale, Rusty, Shawn, Heath, Robin, and Atyana, stepchildren Christina, Joseph, Charlotte, and Katherine, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan Ludlam and his wife Gwendolyn Brown Lindholm.
