Wildwood’s Troiano Steps Down After 39 Years

Longtime Wildwood High School girls' basketball head coach Dave Troiano announced he will not be returning as head coach of the Lady Warriors for the 2017-18 season. He finished his career 682-326 with nine South Jersey Group I championship titles.

WILDWOOD – Longtime Wildwood High School girls’ basketball head coach Dave Troiano is stepping down after thirty-nine years with the team.
The decision was made on Oct. 16 and officially announced Oct. 17.
Troiano began his career with the Warriors in the 1977-78 season and has compiled an overall record of 682-326. On Feb. 13, he became the fourth girls’ basketball coach in the state to coach 1,000 varsity games.
The Lady Warriors went 24-5 in the 2016-17 school year and became South Jersey Group I champions after defeating Haddon Township on March 7. The win marked their ninth South Jersey Group I title in school history and their first since 2008, all under Troiano.
