Wildwood Moves Up in GAP Play

WILDWOOD – The Wildwood Golf & Country Club first team advanced from the B Division to the A Division for next year’s Golf Association of Philadelphia Team Matches by defeating the Downingtown Country Club first team, 30.50 points to 23.50 points, in a Challenge Match. Wildwood piled up 19.5 points in matches on its home course and added 11 points in matches at Downingtown.
Wildwood team members included Keith Cope, the captain; Bernie Bartley, Lou Delollis, Bill Givens, Billy Givens, Alex Hicks, Tommy Horgan, Kyle McMullen, Brett Murphy, John Murphy, Jeff Peltier, Buck Purdy, Jordan Ransom, Steve Ransom, Jim Ridgway, Bob Rinier, Paul Schulte, Brad Spuhler and John Wheeler.
This was the 115th season for the GAP Team Matches, which involved more than 3,700 golfers from 312 teams from 130 clubs.
