Wildwood Catholic Softball Wins S.J. Title

The Wildwood Catholic softball team celebrated their second straight South Jersey title in late May.

The Wildwood Catholic High School softball team won their second straight South Jersey Non-Public B title on May 31 in Deptford Township.
The top-ranked Lady Crusaders scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning en route to a 7-4 victory over second-ranked St. Joseph. Both teams split their meetings together earlier this season.
Emily Cimino had three RBIs and a run scored while teammate Brianna Bailey had two RBIs. Bailey and Mercedes Rivera each scored two runs.
With the win, the team landed a spot in the state Non-Public B championship game against the North champion Lodi Immaculate on June 3. The Lady Crusaders fell 3-0 at neutral site Kean University.
Wildwood Catholic finished their outstanding season at 21-8 overall.
