Week in Review: State Records Broken, 100 Career Goals Scored, and a No-hitter

Girls Lacrosse
On April 28, Middle Township won 17-11 at rival Mainland Regional. Bridget Ruskey and Allison Hunter each broke state records in the Panthers’ win. Ruskey broke the career goal record of 434 by setting the new total to 440. Hunter set the new assist record to 275, breaking the previous record by one. 
Ocean City won 24-10 at home against West Deptford on April 29. Emily DiMarino led the Red Raiders with six goals. Lower Cape May hosted Oakcrest and won, 15-9. Marissa Giancola scored six goals for the Caper Tigers.
Middle Township faced Mainland Regional again on May 1 and won, 18-8. Jenna Herlihy led the Panthers with six goals. Lower Cape May hosted Oakcrest and won 16-6. Marissa Giancola scored four goals while Devon Blackley added three for the Caper Tigers. 
Boys Lacrosse
Logan Bloomstead scored his 100th career goal in Ocean City’s 13-3 win against Rancocas Valley. Mark Kolmer made six saves for the Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders continued their win streak on May 1 with a big 11-10 home win against rival Mainland Regional. Christian Kuhn led Ocean City with three goals. 
Softball
Middle Township won 3-2 at Ocean City on April 28. Victoria London had a double, an RBI and scored a run for the Panthers.
Wildwood Catholic hosted Pleasantville and won, 12-0. Tahtiyana Camba pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts for the Crusaders. Anna Mae Peterson hit a homerun, had three RBIs and scored three runs in the win. 
Baseball
Ocean City won 3-1 at Middle Township on April 28. Winning pitcher Dan Nunan struck out twelve for the Red Raiders.
Wildwood won 12-0 on the road at Clayton on May 1. Josh Marsden hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth inning for the Warriors. Winning pitcher Andrew Mormile pitched a complete game shutout with five strikeouts. Ocean City traveled to Lower Cape May and won, 3-1. Matt Fumo and Ryan Kelly each had an RBI and a run scored for the Red Raiders.
