Tech, O.C. Teams Win Swim Meets

Swimming Results from Jan. 11:
The Cape May Tech boys and girls swim teams swept visiting Absegami on Jan. 11 at the Cape May County Special Services pool in Crest Haven on their senior night. The Hawk boys won a close meet, 85-82, while the girls won 113-56.
On the boys’ side, Tyler Flynn won the 50 freestyle race with Sean Wilson, Ken Paggao, Marek Haluska, Bernie Abarca-Vargas and Carter Tyndall each improving their times in their respective races.
For the girls’ team, Lindsay Robbins and Jayne Seitz led the way with two individual wins and wins in the team relays. Teammates Maddy Ruisch, Hannah Wilcoxen, Miranda Fisher, Gabby Eppright, Savannah Bruno and Nicole Wright all improved times in their respective races.
 The boys are 5-3 while the girls are 3-3 on the season and will be away at Holy Spirit on Jan. 16.
The Ocean City boys and girls swim teams won their respective meets over county rival Middle Township on Jan. 11 in Ocean City. The Red Raider boys won 121-81 while the girls won 113-57.
For the boys’, Nate Hayes, Steve Gooden, Brian Walsh and Matt DiMarino posted wins in the team relays with Hayes and DiMarino each winning individual races for the Red Raiders. Zach Hurtado won the 200 freestyle and Sean Geary won the 50 freestyle for the Panthers.
On the girls’ side, several Red Raiders posted wins in the individual and team relays. Sophia Bosacco won the 100 freestyle and Urvi Patel won the 100 breaststroke for the Panthers.
The Ocean City girls have a 5-1 record while the boys have a 4-3 record on the season. Both teams will host Vineland on Jan. 16.
Both of the Middle Township teams are 4-1 on the season and will host Buena Regional on Jan. 16.
