Special Olympics Basketball Finals Return to Wildwoods

WILDWOOD – Over 1,000 Special Olympics athletes from across New Jersey will participate in the basketball competitions March 29-30. Six locations throughout the Wildwoods will host these competitions, including the Wildwoods Convention Center, the Wildwood Crest Pier Recreation Center, Wildwood High School, Wildwood Catholic High School, the North Wildwood Community Center and the Wildwood Byrne Community Center. Athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.
The mission of the Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a community. Thousands of coaches, volunteers, family members, friends, and spectators dedicate their time to the Special Olympics New Jersey.
Competition will be held from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., March 29, and from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on March 30 at each venue. This event is open to the public and admission is free.
