SEA ISLE CITY — The Sea Isle City Recreation Department, the Sea Isle City Public School PTA and the local branch of the Cape May County Library are working together to provide a variety of after school and evening activities for students and families.
Several activities were announced earlier this year, which take place at the public school, 45th Street and Park Road, including basketball pick-up games for high school students on Monday evenings, 7:30-9 p.m.; “open gym” sessions for middle school students on Wed., Nove. 10 & 17 and Dec. 1, 4-5:15 p.m.; men’s basketball games on Wed. evenings, 6-8:45 p.m., and Saturday mornings, 7-10 a.m.; and adult volleyball games on Thurs., 8-9:30 p.m.
Now, a “Tween Craft Club” for students age 9-14 has been added on Monday, November 15 and December 13, 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Sea Isle City Library, 125 JFK Boulevard. Additionally, middle school students with a penchant for music and socializing will enjoy a Friday evening dance at the Community Lodge, JFK Boulevard and Park Road, on Nove. 12, 7-9:30 pm.
Middle school students also won’t want to miss the “Art Experience” at the public school on Wednesday, December 8 and 15, 4-5:15 p.m., or the “Wii Just Dance Challenge” at the Community Lodge on Friday, December 17, 7:00-8:30.
Younger students, pre-K through fourth grade, will enjoy an “Activity Night” at the Community Lodge on Friday, December 3, 6:30-8 p.m., and also after-school art sessions on Mon., Dec. 6 and 13, 4-5:15, at the public school.
Young children and their families spending New Year’s Eve in Sea Isle City are invited to attend the city’s annual “New Year’s Eve in Italy” celebration at the public school, 5-7:30 p.m., which is hosted by the Municipal Alliance Committee. This free event, which requires re-registration by Dec. 24, will include music, dancing and plenty of good cheer. Phone 609-263-0050 for more details.
