O.C. Soccer Continues Win Streak Against Middle

Ocean City's Faith Slimmer had a goal in the team's 3-0 win against Middle Township on Oct. 13 at Carey Stadium.

OCEAN CITY/COURT HOUSE – The Ocean City High School soccer teams continued their long win streaks with wins over Middle Township on Oct. 13.
The girls shutout the visiting Lady Panthers, 3-0, at Carey Stadium. Captain Hannah Nathan scored the first goal midway through the first half for the Red Raiders off an assist from Natale Stinson to give a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Anna Devlin and Faith Slimmer added goals in the second half to secure the win. Slimmer and Paige Panico added assists in the second half for the Red Raiders.
Middle Township goalie Brynn Bock made nine saves for the visitors. The Lady Panthers dropped to 5-8.
The win marked Ocean City’s third straight shutout victory for October. They improve to 12-1 overall as of Oct. 16 and are in first place in the Cape-Atlantic League National Division.
The Red Raider boys also proved to be a dominate force in the league by winning 6-1 at Middle Township.
Trevor Paone led the way for the visitors by scoring two goals and dishing out an assist in the first half. Matt Brook, Reed Lindsay, Hunter Paone and Luke Varallo each added first half goals. Josiah Nistorenko assisted on two goals while Varallo added one. Garrett Vliet made eleven saves in net.
Eddie Proud scored the lone goal for the Panthers with an assist from Matt Brown. In net, Sean Geary and Braiden Scarpa combined for thirteen saves. Middle stands at 6-5 overall.
Ocean City improves to 10-1-1 overall as of Oct. 16 and is in first place in the Cape-Atlantic League National Division.
