‘Mutt Strut’ Set in Cape May Sept. 18

By Press Release

CAPE MAY — Area dog owners and their canine companions are invited to stroll Cape May’s Beachfront Promenade on Sat., Sept. 18.
The fourth annual Mutt Strut is truly an “every dog has its day” event, the one opportunity each year for participating dogs and owners to enjoy a morning on the Promenade.
Walkers also support a worthwhile cause. Half the event’s proceeds go to Animal Outreach to help reach their goal to build a no-kill shelter, planned for a three-fourth-acre parcel of land in Lower Township.
Owners can strut with their dog on the Promenade anytime between 8 am and noon, for a donation of $1 per leg ($2 per person, $4 per dog), with children under 10 free with an adult.
Registration is outside Convention Hall, Beach Avenue, rain or shine, starting at 8 am. The Mutt Strut is sponsored by the Cape May County Dog Obedience Training Club (CMCDOTC).
The Mutt Strut is being held as part of the American Kennel Club (AKC) Responsible Dog Ownership Days, a nationwide initiative to educate the public about the importance of being a responsible dog owner and the need for all owners to train their pets to be good citizens.!.
