Middle Township High School senior Cameron Hamer is the first athlete to be inducted as a member into the National Football Foundation’s Hall of Fame Class. Hamer is recognized as a scholar athlete.
Hamer is an outstanding and dedicated four-year Panthers member. Poised for a huge senior campaign, he suffered a major injury in the third game and missed all but the final game of the season.
“We finished our season five and five, we probably should have had one more win but losing Cameron in the third week really affected us,” Coach Frank Riggitano said. “We had planned so many things because of his three year preparation. The player who finished out the year did a good job.”
Hamer started football as a freshman, subbing in for a player who broke his collarbone.
“Cameron came in as a freshman and got a varsity letter, which is hard to do because of the physical demand of the sport,” Riggitano said. “He worked very hard over a four year period to become a better athlete each year.”
Hamer will continue his football and academic career at Albright College.
