WHITESBORO — The Middle Township Recreation Department, along with the Hayti Basketball Summer League, provides structured, safe and enjoyable weekend activities for at-risk youth ages 14-18 in Durham, N.C.
These activities promote self-esteem and validate self-worth. They also bridge the gaps between generations and separate sectors of Durham.
The public is being asked to help the Middle Township Recreation Department to welcome the D3 Community Outreach back to the Martin Luther King Center for the second year as they strive to reach their goals.
The department is seeking sponsors, volunteers, and food and craft vendors.
Cost for vendors will be $50 for three nights, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin on Aug 7 at 4:30 p.m. at the outside basketball courts at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, West Main Street.
Participants include Pleasantville, Lower Cape May, Middle Township, Cape May Tech, Wildwood Crest Summer League, Williamstown, Maryland, and Delaware.
