ERMA – The Middle Township field hockey team got the revenge they were looking for against rival Lower Cape May by winning 1-0 in overtime on Oct. 6.
Earlier in the season, the Lady Panthers fell to the Lady Tigers 4-1 on their home field and used that as motive to win on the road.
Both teams fought hard for the full sixty minutes of regulation time and ended scoreless, sending the game to overtime.
Within a few minutes of extra play, Caroline Gallagher made a nice pass to Kate Herlihy for the winning goal for Middle. Makayla Hueber made thirteen stops in the cage for hosts.
Middle Township is now 6-7 and will play Clearview, Buena Regional and Holy Spirit this week.
Lower Cape May is 8-3-1 and will take on Cedar Creek and St. Joseph this week.
