Lower Goalie Reaches 1,000 Career Saves

ERMA – Lower Cape May’s boys lacrosse goalie James Cella reached a milestone that only eight others in the nation have accomplished. Cella became the first high school goalie in the state of New Jersey to reach 1,000 career saves on Monday. The senior captain entered Monday’s game with 994 saves under his belt. His 1,000th career save came early in the second quarter against Absegami High School. Cella made 17 saves in the 21-9 victory, bringing his current total to 1,011 career saves. The Caper Tigers are currently 9-1 on the season, winning a record of eight straight games.
