LCMR Introduces Athletic Trainer Advocacy Decals

Athletic Trainer Advocacy decal on a Lower Cape May football helmet.

By Press Release

ERMA – Lower Cape May Regional High School became the first high school in the state to have Athletic Trainer Advocacy stickers on all helmets starting with the fall sports season.
The decal is part of a national campaign advocating the importance of Athletic Trainers in the Secondary School setting and keeping high school athletes safe. The campaign is aimed to improve safety in sports, recognize athletic trainers as valued health care providers and bring attention to schools that employ athletic trainers to keep their youth athletes safe.
LCMR Athletic Trainer Frank Zilinek contacted Athletic Trainers from other states already participating in the campaign to learn how to kick start the program in this state. Zilinek proceeded to work with the Athletic Trainers Society of New Jersey, the National Athletic Trainers Association and the NJSIAA to gain approval for the 1.5 inch decals to be placed on the helmets.
The decals can be seen on the helmets of the Caper Tiger football team this fall season and will be displayed on all lacrosse and baseball helmets in the spring season.
