Baseball:
On May 10, Lower Cape May won 15-5 at Wildwood Catholic. The Caper Tigers scored twelve runs in the first inning. Ocean City won 1-0 at Williamstown. Zach Chopek had the lone run for the Red Raiders. Cape May Tech fell 4-1 at Cedar Creek. The Hawks’ only run scored came in the first inning. Middle Township fell 4-3 at Buena Regional.
On May 11, Ocean City won 8-0 on the road at St. Augustine Prep. Winning pitcher Josh Arnold had thirteen strike-outs for the Red Raiders.
On May 12, Middle Township hosted ACIT on their senior night and won, 2-1. Winning pitcher David Salvo had ten strike-outs in a complete game for the Panthers. Ocean City hosted Millville and won, 6-5. Sean Mooney had two doubles and scored a run for the Red Raiders. Lower Cape May fell 4-3 at St. Joseph. Cape May Tech fell 12-0 at home against Buena Regional.
On May 14, Cape May Tech hosted ACIT and won 2-0 in round two of NJTAC. Hunter Tomlin pitched a complete game shut-out in the Hawks’ win. Lower Cape May fell 14-7 at Cedar Creek. Wildwood fell 10-0 at Eastern Regional in first round of the Diamond Classic.
Softball:
On May 10, Wildwood Catholic won 13-3 on the road at Lower Cape May. The Crusaders were led by Emily Cimino, who went three-for-three with an RBI and four runs. Aubenee Arseneaux led the Caper Tigers by going two-for-two with a run scored. Cape May Tech fell at home to Cedar Creek, 12-2. Danielle Deiritis and Casey McDonald scored for the Hawks. Middle Township fell at home to Buena Regional, 5-1. Victoria London went two-four-three and hit a home-run for the Panthers. Ocean City fell at home to Egg Harbor Township.
On May 11, Ocean City fell 8-7 at home against Cedar Creek. Keani Hindle had six strike-outs for the Red Raiders. Wildwood Catholic fell 2-1 on the road at St. Joseph. Wildwood fell 17-6 at Clayton.
On May 12, Middle Township won 7-3 at ACIT. Grace Fox went four-for-five and scored two runs for the Panthers. Cape May Tech fell 10-0 at Buena Regional. Jaclyn Gerhing hit her 100th career hit in the Hawks’ loss. Ocean City fell 10-0 at Millville.
Boys Lacrosse:
On May 11, Lower Cape May won 15-5 on the road at Middle Township. Cole Blackey led the Caper Tigers with five goals and James Cella had eleven saves. Dimi Terenik led the Panthers with two goals and Matt Kirkland had twelve saves.
On May 12, Ocean City fell 7-5 at home against Kingsway. Lower Cape May fell 8-7 at Moorestown.
On May 13, Middle Township fell 16-12 at Holy Cross. Dimi Terenik led the Panthers with five goals, including his 100th career goal. Matt Kirkland had 21 saves.
On May 14, Lower Cape May won 12-9 at Oakcrest. Chase Mendyk led the Caper Tigers with three goals and James Cella had twenty-eight saves. Ocean City won 13-4 at home against Northern Burlington. Logan Bloomstead led the Red Raiders with three goals and Mark Kolmer had eighteen saves.
Girls Lacrosse:
On May 12, Ocean City won 18-6 at Egg Harbor Township. Nicholl Fenton led the Red Raiders with five goals. Middle Township fell 13-12 in double over-time at Cherry Hill East. Bridget Ruskey had seven goals for the Panthers.
On May 13, Middle Township hosted OLMA and won, 20-3. Jennifer McCann led the Panthers with six goals and Jenna Herlihy scored her 200th career goal.
On May 14, Ocean City won 15-7 at Northern Burlington. Dara Hennessy led the Red Raiders with four goals.
Golf:
On May 10, Lower Cape May won 166-209 against Oakcrest. Justin Lewis had a 37 for the Caper Tigers. Middle Township won 165-187 against Cape May Tech. Sean McMullen had a 39 and two birdies for the Panthers. Matt Laing had a 44 for the Hawks. Wildwood Catholic won 179-191 against St. Joseph. Patrick Vodges had a 40 and two birdies for the Crusaders.
On May 11, Cape May Tech won 181-189 at Buena Regional. Josh Musick had a 44 for the Hawks. Ocean City won 170-178 at home against Egg Harbor Township. Frank Tutelian had a 37 for the Red Raiders. Middle Township won 95-148 at Bridgeton.
On May 12, Middle Township won 157-178 at Wildwood Catholic. Sean McMullen and Miranda Mangano each shot 37.
On May 13, Middle Township won 88-165 at Cedar Creek. Ocean City won 155-165 at Atlantic City.
Boys Tennis:
On May 10, Lower Cape May won 5-0 at home against Wildwood Catholic. Middle Township won 4-1 at Bridgeton. Ocean City won 3-2 at home against Vineland.
On May 11, Wildwood Catholic fell 4-1 at Buena Regional.
On May 12, Lower Cape May hosted Sterling in the first round of Group II playoffs and won, 4-1. Ocean City hosted Highland Regional in the first round of SJ Group III playoffs and won, 5-0. Middle Township won 5-0 at Wildwood Catholic.
Track & Field:
On May 10, Lower Cape May hosted the Cape May County championships with county rivals Ocean City, Wildwood Catholic, Middle Township and Wildwood. The Ocean City boys track team won in overall scoring, with Middle Township taking second place and Lower Cape May coming in third. The Ocean City girls took first place in overall scoring with Lower Cape May taking second, and Middle Township taking third.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
