High School Scores
In Sept. 22 boys’ soccer, Ocean City knotted Vineland, 0-0.
Buena stopped Cape Tech, 2-1. Nathan Kinnard scored.
Salem doubled up Wildwood, 4-2. Valentin Rodriguez and Jared Irwin scored.
In girls’ soccer, Lower edged Millville, 1-0, on Madie Gibson’s game-winner.
Wildwood overtimed Salem, 1-0. Keturah Marrow and Jillian Freeman scored.
Wildwood Catholic whipped Bridgeton, 9-1. Caitlin McMullan scored three goals.
Ocean City stopped Vineland, 3-0. Veronica Garcia scored and assisted.
Buena topped Cape Tech, 3-1. Danielle Pennington scored.
Absegami defeated Middle, 3-1. Taylor Brady stopped 10 shots.
In field hockey, OC trounced Oakcrest, 9-0. Kelly Hanna’s five assists set the Red Raider career record with 47.
Lower stopped Bridgeton, 6-0. Kat Swan scored a hat trick.
Middle blanked Spirit, 3-0. Abby Thompson, Jenna Herlihy and Skylar Gentilini scored.
In Sept. 24 hockey, Lower topped Holy Spirit, 2-0. Kat Swan and Kayla Marcucci scored.
Ocean City shut down Vineland, 8-0. Jordan Allegretto and Britney Stein scored twice.
Middle whipped Vineland, 6-0. Jenna Herlihy scored a hat trick.
In boys’ soccer, EHT downed Middle, 1-0.
Millville defeated Lower, 5-0.
Pleasantville edged Wildwood Catholic, 3-2. Pat McGann and Jared Wallace scored.
Deptford Township defeated Wildwood, 6-1. Yesiel Colon scored.
In girls’ soccer, OC edged Absegami, 2-1. Kristi Rohrer and Devon Terwilliger scored.
In Sept. 26 football, Pennsville topped Wildwood, 48-8. Abdiel Richards scored. Mainland dropped Ocean City, 26-0.
Buena outscored Middle, 56-33. Joe Durso tossed four touchdown passes. Eric Arenberg and Jimmy Versage caught two apiece.
In girls’ soccer, Lower downed Cape Tech, 8-0. Madie Gibson’s hat trick included her 100th career goal and 15th of the season.
Middle beat Cedar Creek, 3-1. Allison Hunter had two goals. Bridget Ruskey scored.
OLMA edged Wildwood Catholic, 2-1. Noelle Johnson scored.
Wildwood downed Gloucester, 2-0. Mackenzie McCracken and Jillian Freeman scored.
In boys’ soccer, Middle edged Cedar Creek, 2-1. Tom Williams and Zack Thomas scored.
Wildwood edged Gloucester City, 1-0. Jared Irwin scored.
In field hockey, Mainland defeated Lower, 3-1. Kat Swan scored.
In cross country, Middle’s boys took the Cape May County Big Five Championship race. Ryan Herlihy was the top finisher in 16 minutes, 13 seconds. Panthers Mike Feraco and Joshua Moore took second and third, respectively.
Cape Tech captured the girls’ race. Middle’s Allison Risko won the event in 22 minutes, 30 seconds. Lower’s Bithell Quinn took second and Alicia Forrest of Catholic was third.
Cape Express Scores
In girls’ Cape Express U-8 soccer, the Showstoppers challenged Mount Laurel. Kalie Sanchez, Maddie Gilbert, Carmen O’Hara, Reagan Gittle, Grace Murphy, Antonia Panico, Grace Murphy, Antonia Panico and Kalie Sanchez led the team.
The U-9 Wolfpack took on Delran. Ava Vogdes, Tessa Huebert, Alyssa Morrison and Alliyah Jonassaint led the ‘pack.
The U-10 Surf met Marlton. Keira Schmidt, Bryn Dougherty and Carly Murphy led the Surf.
The U-12 Comets dropped a 5-1 decision to Washington Township in state cup play. Anna Bond scored on an assist from Chloe Lawler. Stephanie Carey, Carly Lashley, Victoria Hutchison, Riley Fisher, Isabella Aftanis and Jordan Dougherty led the Comets.
The U-13 Herricanes came up short versus the American Soccer Rebels, 3-1. Mia Rafter scored. Gina Geraci, Kristal Stahler, Alana Wharf and Marianna Popzoglou were strong.
The U-14 Stingrays suffered a 1-0 decision to Deptford. Marissa Giancola, Katie Campbell, Reagan Licata, Ashley Gereaghty and Abigail Kampmeyer played well.
In boys’ action, the U-8 Hammerheads met Lumberton. Tighe Olek, Noah Stokes, Philip Woodrow, Joseph Berrrodin, Chase Critchfield and Donnie led the Hammerheads.
The U-8 Riptide met Moorestown. Simon Hardin scored twice. David Delconte, Bryson Keating-Horin, Sam Ritti and Jack MacLeod led the Riptide.
The U-9 Breakers challenged Cherry Hill. Kai Lindsay, Noah Plenn, Anthony Trombetta, Gabe Schmitz and Sawyer Lomax led the Breakers.
The U-10 Blitz met Florence. Devon Bock, Vinny Povio, Danial Kotb, Evan Merritt, Ryan Dougherty and Drew Nelson led the Blitz.
The U-10 Thunderbolts received strong efforts from Steven Berrodin, Riley Haring, Jacob Radzieta and Jason Campbell.
The U-11 Union dropped a 5-4 decision to Swedesboro. Austin Carr, Tommy Carr, Xander Hardin, Chile Adams, Mace Fiorucci, and Matt Hays led the Union.
The U-12 United defeated Upper Township, 2-0. Gavin Quinn, Connor Bezaire, T.J. Shoffler, Sergio Miller and Braiden Scarpa were sharp for United.
In New Jersey Cup second round play, the U-12 United edged Bloomfield, 3-2. Bryce Reidenbach , Connor Bezaire, T.J. Shoffler, Colby Watts and Donovan Richardson led United.
The U-13 Railhawks dropped a 5-2 decision to Swedesboro. Owen Carlson, Ethan Stokes and David Gardner led the Railhawks.
The U-14 Silverstreak defeated Atlantic United, 3-1. Tyler Tomlin, Pat Moore, Ed Proud and Vin Wilson led the ‘streak.
