Girls Swimming Finals
The Ocean City girls swim team swam against Manasquan at G.C.I.T. on Feb. 16 in the NJSIAA Group B seminfinals and won, 101-69, to move onto the finals. The girls swam against unbeaten Chatham on Saturday, Feb. 20, at The College of New Jersey and won in a close meet, 86-84. The Red Raider girls won their first state title and finished the season with a perfect 14-0 record.
 
Wrestling District 32 Tournament Results
On Saturday, Feb. 20, wrestlers from Lower Cape May, Middle Township and Ocean City competed in the District 32 tournament held at Absegami High School. Lower Cape May’s Mike Yorio was the only wrestler from Cape May County to win a district title in the 170 weight class and move on to regionals. Alex Pruszinski (113), also from Lower Cape May, won a third place match. Other winners from the quarterfinals include Nick McCardell (113), David Levin (126), Jeremiah Johnson (152), and Will Nickerson (160) of Ocean City.
 
Girls Basketball
On Feb. 16, Wildwood Catholic clinched the Cape-Atlantic League United Division title with a 65-62 win over Cedar Creek. Caitlin McMullan scored 19 points for the Crusaders. Cape May Tech defeated Buena Regional on the road, 39-20. Juliana McAnulty led the Hawks with 20 points. Middle Township won 56-35 over Oakcrest at home. Jenna Herlihy and Bridget Ruskey each scored 14 points for the Panthers. Wildwood fell at home to Gloucester, 68-49. Mackenzie McCracken scored 19 points for the Warriors while Jillian Freeman added 18 points.
On Feb. 17, Lower Cape May hosted Bridgeton and won, 55-23. Kaylee Devine led the Caper Tigers with 20 points. Ocean City defeated Pleasantville 54-13 on the road.
On Feb. 18, Wildwood hosted Clayton and won, 58-49. Mackenzie McCracken scored 27 points for the Warriors. Ocean City hosted rival Lower Cape May and won, 54-24. Grace Sacco and Alexis Paone each scored 14 points for the Red Raiders. Marissa McGaffney scored 11 points for the Caper Tigers.
On Feb. 19, Wildwood Catholic hosted Cape May Tech and won, 82-33. Lauren Moretti led the Crusaders with a career and game-high 23 points. Philicia London scored 10 points for the Hawks. Middle Township won 59-39 on the road at Oakcrest. Bridget Ruskey led the Panthers with 14 points.
On Feb. 20, Lower Cape May earned a 42-21 road win at Egg Harbor Township. Olivia Levin led the Caper Tigers with 21 points. Ocean City hosted Wildwood and won, 51-32. Alexis Paone scored 14 points for the Red Raiders. Monika Concepcion-McGrath and Mackenzie McCracken each scored 10 points for the Warriors.
Boys Basketball
On Feb. 16, Wildwood Catholic clinched the Cape-Atlantic League United Division title with a 59-45 win over Cedar Creek. Trey Smith led the Crusaders with 25 points. Cape May Tech hosted Buena Regional and won, 50-49. Josh Wright scored 25 points for the Hawks.
On Feb. 17, Lower Cape May fell to host Bridgeton, 47-43. Pat Holden scored 14 points for the Caper Tigers.
On Feb. 18, Ocean City defeated rival host Lower Cape May and won, 82-52. Connor Laverty led the Red Raiders with 26 points. Pat Holden scored 21 points for the Caper Tigers. Wildwood fell 90-83 on the road at Clayton. Kyion Flanders led the Warriors with 34 points.
On Feb. 19, Middle Township hosted Oakcrest and won, 55-33. Tim Toney led the Panthers with 17 points. Wildwood Catholic earned a 90-61 road win at Cape May Tech. Caleb Fields scored 19 points for the Crusaders. Josh Wright led the Hawks with a game-high 33 points.
On Feb. 20, Wildwood Catholic won 94-81 at Delsea. Ryan Legler led the Crusaders with 21 points. Cape May Tech hosted Vineland Prep and won, 57-33. Josh Wright scored 20 points for the Hawks. Middle Township won 64-34 against Camden Catholic. Tim Toney led the Panthers with 19 points. Ocean City hosted Wildwood and won, 84-52. Luciano Lubrano scored 16 points for the Red Raiders. Trayvon Young scored 15 points for the Warriors. Lower Cape May fell at home to Bridgeton, 57-53. Pat Holden scored 17 points for the Caper Tigers.
